FAQ
Q: How will I feel after a Kinesiology session?
A: Many people feel fantastic after their first Kinesiology session, and symptoms may disappear immediately. For others, it can take time, as several layers may need addressing. Similar to counselling, where it's unrealistic to expect all past and present issues to be resolved in one or two sessions, Kinesiology works on a much deeper, holistic level than many other therapies meaning more changes are taking place. After a treatment, you may feel spaced out, tired, but lighter. Sometimes, you might feel a bit "off" for a few days as your body adjusts, and this can take longer, especially if you're addressing compensations built up over the years due to stress where your body resists change. Your body will begin detoxing emotionally and physically, which may bring be uncomfortable. Past unresolved issues might resurface during this time, which can seem counter-intuitive, but these are signs of positive change, indicating that healing is taking place. Natural healing is a journey. While temporary discomfort is possible, it works on deeper levels, addressing the root cause of symptoms. Healing is not always linear and can take time.
Q: I've felt unwell for longer than a few days?
A: If you feel unwell for longer than a few days, it’s likely not directly related to the treatment. Other factors, such as dietary changes, emotional stress, new exercise, medication, viral infections, or recent vaccinations, may be contributing.
Q: Are the nutritional supplements having a negative effect on me?
A: It’s unlikely that the natural nutritional supplements are causing any issues, as they have been specifically tested for your needs, and they will only benefit you. However, I always recommend checking with your GP to rule out any medication interactions. If you're new to supplements, it might help to pause them and reintroduce them one at a time. Unlike allopathic medications, these supplements don't come with long lists of side effects.
Q: My skin issues have worsened since treatment—why?
A: This is often a positive sign of detoxing. Skin detox occurs when other pathways (liver, intestines, lungs) are overwhelmed. It may take several sessions to optimise these pathways, so patience is key. Not avoiding alcohol and certain foods can also inhibit progress. Skin issues are associated with gut problems. Skin issues often have deep-rooted emotional components and take time to resolve. These issues have been buried for a long time, so there is lots of background work to do before we "see" results.
Q: What is a "healing crisis"?
A: A healing crisis during detox occurs when harmful microorganisms die off and release toxins into the bloodstream faster than the liver can eliminate them. This can lead to temporary symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, nausea, itchy skin, fever, swollen glands, aches, chills, or rashes. The severity of symptoms largely depends on the amount of toxins stored in your body and the severity of your condition, such as eczema. While you are unlikely to experience all these symptoms at once, it’s important to know they are temporary and will subside. Symptoms can last anywhere from 7 to 30 days, depending on your toxic load. Although these reactions indicate the treatment is working and targeting the right areas, it may be necessary to slow down the process to make it more manageable. To support detoxification, take Activated Charcoal to bind toxins in the gut, NAC (N-acetylcysteine) to boost liver function, and Magnesium Oxide to promote bowel movements and toxin elimination. Stay hydrated and rest to aid recovery.
Q: Should I buy more supplements after running out?
A: It’s best to wait until your next appointment (if within two weeks). Supplements address specific layers, so continuing the same one long-term may not be necessary.
Q: You recommended a supplement, can I use a similar supplement I already have?
A: Even if the name or ingredient is similar, the quality and composition may differ, especially if sourced from supermarkets or general retailers. Always use the recommended supplement.
Q: Someone online said I shouldn’t take this supplement.
A: Online advice is generic and not tailored to you. Kinesiology uses muscle testing to determine your specific needs, which is more accurate than generic guidance. Trust your body and the tailored advice you’ve been given.
