Why You Don’t Feel Better Right Away (and Why That’s Okay)
When you start receiving Kinesiology you might expect to feel better right away. But real progress doesn’t happen in a straight line—and that’s completely normal.
Think of Your Journey Like a Series of Boxes
Imagine your healing journey as moving through a series of boxes. Each box represents a stage of growth. At any given time, you're inside one box—with another box above you and one below. The aim is to climb upwards through the boxes until you get to where you want to be. You can not go through all the boxes at once - that would not be healthy.
Here’s how it works:
The top of the box is your resistance level—the absolute edge of what you can currently handle.
The bottom of the box is your support level—the place you’ve recently moved beyond and can now manage with ease.
Understanding the Resistance Level
The resistance level exists to protect you. If you try to break through it too quickly, you might rise into the next box without enough strength or stability. This can lead to burnout and cause you to crash—sometimes falling back into a lower box than before.
Understanding the Support Level
The support level also protects you. It’s the safe zone you can return to when things get tough. But if you become too comfortable there, complacency can slowly pull you backward into your previous box. Remember—your current support level was once your resistance. You broke through it when you were ready.
How You Move Through the Boxes
After each Kinesiology treatment, you transition into a new box. You’ll stay in this box until your next session. Each day, you’ll wake up somewhere inside it. Some days you’ll push upward, testing the resistance. Other days you’ll go down toward the support level. This fluctuation is natural and healthy.
When you approach the resistance level, you might bounce back. That drop isn't a failure—it's a sign you're testing your limits. You're asking, "Am I ready to rise?"
Bouncing off the resistance level helps you re-centre, slow down, and avoid false breakthroughs. They reveal whether your momentum is rooted in genuine growth or a temporary push driven by adrenaline or pressure.
Sometimes you’ll also drop back to re-test your support level. This confirms your foundation is solid. But if you linger too long, the risk of slipping into your old patterns increases.
The Importance of Consolidation
The phase of staying within the box—between resistance and support—is called consolidation. It may feel slow or frustrating, but it’s absolutely essential.
This is where:
You stabilise your progress
You build resilience
You integrate changes so they last
Skip this phase, and you risk rising too fast, only to fall back even harder.
The Breakthrough Comes Naturally
Eventually, through repetition and consolidation, you’ll rise to meet the resistance level again—but this time, you’ll be ready. When the breakthrough happens, it will feel smooth and sustainable.
A new box will form around you:
The old resistance becomes your new support level - your new safe zone.
A fresh resistance level appears above, waiting for you to grow past it - only when you are ready.
Why You Don’t Feel Better Yet
You’re still consolidating—still in the box. You’re doing the work, laying the foundation, building strength. You haven’t stalled; you’re stabilising. And when you’re ready, you’ll rise—not by force, but because your system is strong enough to hold it.
Everyone’s Journey Looks Different
Some people have more boxes to pass through, depending on:
The severity of the issue(s)
The quantity of issues
The duration of the issue(s)
How Long Will You Stay In Each Box?
This depends on:
How often you commit to treatments
How much you prioritise those treatments
How committed you are between treatments
You Need to Understand the Process to Succeed
Healing takes dedication and consistency. Some people say they’re ready—but they don’t fully understand the process. They expect things to improve immediately, and to keep rising in a straight line. But healing doesn’t work like that.
When progress slows or discomfort arises, they blame the process—not realising it’s working exactly as it should. And those who misunderstand the process often fail to reach their goals—not because they lacked potential, but because they didn’t give the process the patience it requires.
So ask yourself honestly: Am I one of those people?
If you want real, lasting change, you must understand the process—and trust it. This is the process.
